On April 24, 2016, the EXEDY-sponsored Movistar YAMAHA MotoGP team competed at the fourth round of the 2016 MotoGP, which was held at the Circuito de Jerez. Valentino Rossi, one of the riders on the team, placed first and got his first win of the season, and his teammate, Jorge Lorenzo, joined him on the winners podium after placing second.
The race was an intense battle between Rossi and Lorenzo
Rossi, who was off to a great start from pole position, dominated the first lap, in spite of the pressure he was feeling from the racers behind him. He protected his lead, finishing the race in first from start to finish, netting him is first victory of the season.

His teammate Jorge Lorenzo was right on his tail, giving hot pursuit throughout the race, and ultimately finished in second.

It has been fifteen races since the Movistar YAMAHA MotoGP team performed a one-two finish. The last time they did so was in June of last year at the MotoGP’s 7th round.
